6-week ProgramImprovisation

Improvisation is a 6-week course focused on adaptability, spontaneity, and real-time response. Through actor improvisation practices — partner exercises, group games, and playful creative challenges participants train the ability to listen, adapt, and act when there is no script.

If Presence & Play teaches you how to stand on the surfboard, Improvisation teaches you how to ride the wave — responding to change with creativity, clarity, and confidence."

The Situation:

Modern life rarely follows a script. Conversations shift, plans change, and unexpected moments require us to respond quickly. But many of us have learned to rely on preparation, control, and “the right answer.” When the situation changes, we often hesitate, overthink, or freeze.

You might recognize yourself here:

• constant self-analysis and overthinking

• difficulty reacting spontaneously

• tension in the body during conversations or presentations

• social anxiety or emotional distance

• having ideas but struggling to express them under attention

The Practices:

On stage there is no script for what the partner will say — actors learn to listen, adapt, and respond in real time. We adapt play-based actor training practices for everyday life. The goal isn’t to perform better — it’s to help you stay flexible, creative, and confident when plans change.

In this course we practice the same foundations through:

• embodied awareness exercises

• improvisation games and spontaneous interaction

• creative imagination practices

• attention and deep listening training

• partner and group improvisations

• playful experimentation with mistakes

What to expect

The course unfolds over three stages

Weeks 1–2

PRESENCE AND ADAPTABILITY

Here we create a safe and playful space, introduce the improvisational mindset, and train the ability to stay present and respond when plans change.

Weeks 3–4

BODY INTELLIGENCE AND CREATIVE THINKING

Here we establish psychological safety and begin shifting attention from constant thinking to physical awareness.

Weeks 5–6

COMMUNICATION AND SPONTANEOUS ACTION

Here we deepen listening, collaboration, and improvisation under pressure, culminating in a collective improvised performance that celebrates the journey.
