WorkshopPhysical Theatre: From Body to Story

Your body already knows how to tell a story. This is where you let it speak.

WorkshopPhysical Theatre: From Body to Story

This is not a performance class. It's a 3-hour physical theatre lab where you use your body as a creative instrument. No stage fright. No acting experience needed. Just a body and genuine curiosity.

Through four expressive layers — Statics, Dynamics, Sound, and Dramaturgy — you move from isolated gesture to collective storytelling.

Step by step, you discover how stillness, movement, voice, and narrative can transform into something powerful — without a script, without experience, without pretending.

The Situation:

We spend most of our lives inside our heads — analyzing, planning, rehearsing. The body becomes just a vehicle that carries the mind from place to place. But something gets lost when we stop listening to it.

You might recognize yourself here:

• You feel disconnected from your body in stressful or creative moments

• You overthink instead of trusting your instinct

• You want to express yourself more freely but don't know how

• You feel stuck in routine and crave something that wakes you up

• You're curious about physical expression but have never explored it

• You want to create something together with other people — without a script

The Practices:

Actors use their bodies as primary instruments. In physical theatre, the body doesn't illustrate the text — it IS the text. We take these tools and make them accessible to anyone curious about embodied expression.

Body composition & stillness (Statics)

Coordination, rhythm & dynamic movement (Dynamics)

Voice as physical material — breath, resonance, sound (Sound)

Collective storytelling from the body up (Dramaturgy)

What to expect

The course unfolds over three stages

Phase 1

WARM-UP & GROUNDING

We begin by slowing down. A guided body scan and awareness exercises bring your attention out of your head and into your physical experience. You become present — to yourself and to the group.

Phase 2

FOUR EXPRESSIVE LAYERS

We will explore: Statics - Dynamics - Sound - Dramaturgy

Phase 3

COLLECTIVE CREATION

In small groups, you create short physical theatre scenes — no text, no characters, just bodies in space telling a shared story. You discover how much can be communicated without a single word.

Phase 4

INTEGRATION

We close by reflecting on the experience — what surprised you, what opened up, what you want to take with you.

What Participants Say

t revived my inner actress. The scene-building exercise blew my mind — I had no idea I could do that.

I shifted perspective, switched off, rested, and walked away with a sea of joy. Exactly what I needed.
