TERMS AND CONDITIONS
Effective date: July 2026
- Entity and acceptance. These Terms are an agreement between you and TISTO LLC, doing business as TISTO Studio ("TISTO," "we," "us"). By checking the box next to the linked Terms and submitting a registration, or by making a payment after receiving a link to these Terms, you acknowledge that you have read and agree to them, including the Payments, Cancellations and Refunds policy below. If you do not agree, please do not register or purchase our services.
- Programs. TISTO offers educational programs: workshops, courses, retreats, and special events. Programs may be offered in person, online, or in a hybrid format, as stated in the applicable program description. Program descriptions, schedules, and instructors may change if necessary. We reserve the right to adjust schedules, replace instructors, and modify program content when needed, as described in the Payments, Cancellations and Refunds policy.
- Registration and payment. To participate, you must complete registration and submit the required payment. By registering, you confirm that: the information you provide is accurate; you are at least 18 years old, or a parent or legal guardian is registering and consenting on behalf of a participant under 18; you have read and agree to these Terms. Payments are processed through secure third-party payment and bank-transfer services (such as Zelle).
- Cancellations and refunds. All cancellations, refunds, transfers, and credits are governed by the Payments, Cancellations and Refunds policy below, which forms part of these Terms.
- Participant conduct. Participants are expected to behave respectfully toward instructors and other participants. We reserve the right to remove any participant whose behavior disrupts the learning environment or the safety of the group. In that case no refund is issued.
- Intellectual property. All program materials, including exercises, scripts, and educational content, remain the intellectual property of TISTO unless otherwise stated. Materials may not be reproduced or distributed without permission.
- Website use. You agree not to use the website for unlawful purposes or in ways that may damage or disrupt it.
- Assumption of risk and limitation of liability. Our programs include physical movement and group exercises, and retreats include outdoor activities. Participation is voluntary. Retreat participants additionally sign a Participant Agreement and Safety Acknowledgment before arrival. You understand and voluntarily assume the ordinary risks of these activities. To the fullest extent permitted by law, we are not responsible for personal injury, property damage, or losses that may occur during participation, except where caused by our gross negligence or willful misconduct, or where liability cannot be waived under New York law. Nothing here waives any liability that cannot be waived under applicable law.
- Changes to these Terms. We may update these Terms at any time. Updated Terms apply prospectively from the date they are published, and will not change the terms of an existing paid booking unless required by law or accepted by the participant.
PAYMENTS, CANCELLATIONS AND REFUNDS
This policy applies to all TISTO programs: workshops, courses, retreats, and special events. By reserving a spot or making any payment you agree to this policy.
- Deposits. A deposit of $150 (or another amount stated at checkout) reserves your spot and is applied toward the total price. Deposits are non-refundable, except when TISTO cancels the program under Section 7, or where a refund is required by applicable law.
- Reserved spots. When you enroll, we hold a physical spot for you in a small group and decline it to others. For this reason, payments are not refundable simply because you change your mind, cannot attend, or decide to stop attending. This applies to all programs.
- Workshops (single sessions). Payments are non-refundable. If you tell us at least 48 hours before the start, you may transfer your spot to another person or receive a one-time credit toward another workshop within 60 days. No-shows are not refunded or credited.
- Courses (multi-week programs). Your enrollment reserves a seat for the entire course. If you withdraw before the first session, we refund your payment minus the deposit. After the first session has taken place, course payments are non-refundable, whether or not you continue attending. Missed sessions are not refunded, not credited, and not transferable to other courses. Leaving a course early does not create a right to a partial refund: the seat was reserved for you for the full course and could not be sold to anyone else.
- Retreats. The deposit is non-refundable. The remaining balance is due by the date stated at booking. If you cancel 14 or more days before the retreat start date, we will offer you a credit of the balance (not the deposit) toward a future TISTO program, valid for 6 months. If you cancel less than 14 days before the start date, or do not show up, no refund or credit is issued: lodging, food, and logistics have already been paid for you.
- Transfers. You may transfer your spot to another person: up to 72 hours before the start for courses, retreats, and special events, and as described in Section 3 for workshops. Email us at hello@tisto.studio with the replacement participant's name. The replacement participant must meet all eligibility requirements and complete the required forms. The transfer settles any payment between you and them; we do not process refunds for transferred spots.
- If we cancel. If TISTO cancels a program entirely for any reason, including not reaching minimum enrollment, you choose: a full refund of everything you paid, or a full credit toward a future program. This is the only case in which deposits are refunded.
- Changes and substitutions. We may make reasonable changes to the schedule, venue (within the same region), or facilitators. Such changes are not grounds for a refund. If a major change makes the program materially different (for example, a change of date), you may choose a full credit instead of attending.
- Rescheduling and force majeure. If an event outside our reasonable control (severe weather, natural disaster, government restriction) requires us to reschedule a program, your payment is applied to the new date. If you cannot attend the new date, you receive a credit toward a future TISTO program, valid for 6 months. Outdoor activities may be adjusted or moved indoors due to weather; this alone is not grounds for a refund. If we cancel the program entirely, Section 7 applies.
- Payment questions and disputes. Please contact us first at hello@tisto.studio with any payment concern. We respond within 3 business days and make a good-faith effort to resolve it. You agree not to initiate a payment dispute or chargeback without contacting us first. Nothing in this policy limits any rights available to you under applicable law.
- Governing law. These terms are governed by the laws of the State of New York. Any dispute will be resolved in the courts located in New York County, NY.
